About Eliana
I am a violin tutor with 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Early Music with a Baroque Violin Focus. I have taught over 250 students from young beginners to advanced performers. My teaching covers bowing technique, vibrato, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression across classical, baroque, and contemporary repertoire. I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity examinations and provide orchestral preparation. My approach is patient, methodical, and adapted to each student's pace and goals. My violin lessons are planned to develop strong healthy technique and genuine musical understanding simultaneously from the first lesson. Every session starts with posture review and a comprehensive warm-up of scales and bowing exercises. I emphasise bow technique strongly from the earliest stages as it most directly impacts tone quality and expression. Intonation develops through scale work, careful listening, and consistent tuning technology use throughout. Students preparing for examinations follow the full required syllabus with regular mock assessments and detailed feedback. Advanced students develop shifting, vibrato, double stopping, and personal expressive skills. I use backing tracks to develop ensemble awareness and rhythmic sensitivity. For orchestral students I provide sight-reading coaching and ensemble skills development throughout the course. Clear specific feedback after every performance gives students actionable goals to work on. My goal is for every student to develop a confident technique and an enduring love of violin playing.
