About Nola

I have a PhD in Violin Pedagogy and 11 years of experience teaching students of different ages and abilities. My journey with music began through classical training and years of performance experience that deepened my appreciation for the violin. Teaching became a natural way to share that passion with others.

My teaching philosophy combines structure, encouragement, and flexibility. Every student learns differently, so I adapt lessons to fit their goals and learning style. Through technical exercises, repertoire study, and performance preparation, I help students build confidence alongside strong musical skills. Supporting steady development is always my priority.

Outside tutoring, I enjoy chamber music, studying teaching methods, and exploring violin repertoire from different musical periods. These activities help me continue growing as both a musician and educator. Teaching violin is rewarding because I get to witness students transform dedication into achievement. Their progress motivates me to keep improving as a teacher.

About the lesson

My violin lessons are designed to help students develop technical control while enjoying the creative side of music. We work on bowing techniques, finger placement, rhythm accuracy, tone production, scales, sight-reading, and musical interpretation through structured practice. I focus on helping students understand the purpose behind every exercise so that learning feels meaningful and productive. This approach supports long-term progress.

Lessons are tailored according to each learner’s level and goals. Beginners focus on posture, instrument handling, and simple melodies that build confidence. Intermediate students improve intonation, coordination, and expressive playing. Advanced learners refine performance skills, challenging repertoire, and stylistic understanding. Regular feedback helps students continue improving effectively.

I believe violin learning should be encouraging and inspiring. My lessons provide a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing new skills. As they progress, their confidence naturally increases. My goal is to help learners become expressive musicians who enjoy both practice and performance.
