About Kimberly
Picture yourself playing a difficult passage with total ease, the bow arm light and the left hand moving fluidly across the fingerboard. This is the goal of every session I lead.
We prioritize monthly progress reports shared with parents to keep everyone aligned on your development. I assess your sight reading during every meeting.
We then focus on tuning by ear for at least 10 minutes. My BMus background ensures that even hobbyists receive instruction rooted in elite conservatoire standards.
We tackle technical hurdles like shifting positions through targeted exercises. The violin is a complex instrument, but it becomes accessible through consistent, disciplined study. I take pride in the progress my students make every month.

Double stops, spiccato bowing, and precise shifting positions are the technical pillars I emphasize to ensure your playing sounds refined and professional. You probably know that mastering the violin requires more than just practice hours, which is why I incorporate my BMus training into every technical drill. Having guided 466 students over 5 years of experience, I observe how different learners adapt to classical repertoire and complex ear training.
Tuning by ear and reading music fluently are skills I emphasize daily, drawing from my time at the Conservatoire de Montréal. My approach connects the physical sensation of staccato bowing with the musicality required for advanced performance. I find great satisfaction in watching hobbyists conquer difficult scales and arpeggios that once seemed impossible. This work is a labor of love that I continue to enjoy every day.
