About Bennett
Does a refined sound require more than just technical precision? Graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Music provided me with a rigorous foundation in scales and arpeggios, tone production, left hand agility, posture and hold, spiccato and staccato bowing. I have spent 6 years guiding others while maintaining my role in the Chicago Symphony.
Violin is my primary focus. Simply put, I love the instrument. My personal practice remains the bedrock of my teaching journey.

Chamber music remains the most effective path toward musical growth. 6.0 is the foundational score of my custom scale and etude sheets for each student.
I prioritize building a collaborative environment where technical demands eventually serve the needs of a duo or trio. My background as a symphony player influences how I explain string tension and phrasing.
You will find that I provide notes at a deliberate pace. These sessions are designed to move from individual study into ensemble performance.
It creates a complete musical picture. The violin becomes a voice for dialogue within a group setting. Technical exercises are never isolated from the goal of making music with others. It just follows the score.
