About Ivy

My passion for violin began with a deep interest in classical music and expressive performance. I completed a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and have 8 years of teaching experience. Over time, I have worked with students of different ages and skill levels, helping them build confidence and strong technical ability. Teaching violin allows me to combine discipline with creativity.

I enjoy helping students discover both technical control and emotional expression in music. My teaching approach is structured but flexible, allowing each learner to progress at a comfortable pace. I focus on building confidence through clear explanations and step-by-step guidance. Every lesson is designed to support steady musical growth.

Outside teaching, I continue performing and studying violin repertoire. These experiences help me bring variety and depth into my lessons. Watching students grow into confident musicians is one of the most fulfilling parts of my profession.

About the lesson

My violin lessons focus on helping students develop a strong technical base while also building musical expression. I teach posture, bow hold, bow distribution, finger placement, intonation control, shifting, vibrato development, tone production, and rhythmic accuracy. Each concept is introduced in a simple and step-by-step way so students can understand without confusion. The goal is to help learners play with both precision and emotion.

Students are guided based on their level and personal learning goals. Beginners focus on open strings, basic finger patterns, posture correction, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners develop shifting, vibrato, tone control, and expressive phrasing. Advanced students work on interpretation, performance preparation, advanced bowing techniques, and repertoire refinement. Students preparing for exams or concerts receive structured practice plans. Continuous feedback helps students improve steadily and confidently.

Learning violin takes patience and consistency. My lessons create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable progressing at their own pace. As confidence grows, learners become more expressive and musically aware. My goal is to help every student enjoy the process while building strong violin skills.
