About Michelle
Sometimes I find that even the best students struggle to replicate exactly what they heard in the studio once they are back at home. To solve this, I offer recorded playback of your specific tricky passages so you have a reference tool for your practice routine. During these sessions, we focus on shifting positions, vibrato, and refined bowing techniques like spiccato. My degree from The Glenn Gould School informs how I correct your intonation and double stops for ABRSM or Trinity exams.
These sessions provide the structural rigor necessary for ambitious students to excel. I keep my instructions clear to ensure that your practice time stays productive and focused. We work together to ensure that every grade level is achieved with confidence. I look forward to helping you shape your sound.

Technique is often considered the most tedious part of string playing, yet it remains the foundation for every expressive sound I produce. My training at The Glenn Gould School provided me with a rigorous standard that I apply to my 7 years of active instruction.
I have maintained a consistent curriculum since starting my violin studies at 5 years old. This depth of training allows me to guide kids and adults through the most complex RCM syllabus requirements. My background in guitar and voice adds a unique perspective to my string pedagogy.
I evaluate every student based on their individual goals while maintaining a high level of classical integrity. My approach is firm but encouraging, ensuring that even the youngest pupils grasp difficult concepts early. I prioritize steady progress over quick results to ensure long term success.
You will find my methodology effective for both exam preparation and casual self study. I am the instructor who ensures the music remains the primary focus.
