About Annabelle
!!! Please note, I have very few slots left at this competitive price so please get in touch to reserve a slot !!! Hi I’m Annabelle! I’m a violin/viola tutor with 15 years of playing experience and 4 years of teaching experience. I am currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where I have held front desk positions in many projects, led multiple chamber groups and received masterclasses from world class violinists including Tasmin Little. I have played with the National Youth Orchestra and lead the Essex Youth Chamber Orchestra. I hold a principal position in the Essex Youth Orchestra and have played with multiple amateur orchestras across Essex, performed as a soloist multiple times and have been invited to teach as a visiting tutor to a prestigious, local music school. I am offering violin lessons up to any level and viola lessons up to an intermediate level. I also completed a CertHE in Music History alongside Music and English Lit A-levels. I am offering online-only violin lessons up to any level and viola lessons up to an intermediate level. For beginners, I use the Fiddle Time Series alongside the Theory Made Easy series. First lessons include, how to hold the violin and bow plus basic rhythmic activities. Once the Fiddle Time books are complete, the student will be moved onto ABRSM Grade 1 unless you request not to do grades. I strongly believe in supplementing the grade material with lots of extra exercise books (I particularly like Sevcik for beginners and Kreutzer and Mazas as the student progresses), scales, warm ups and vast repertoire (the Barbara Barber books are excellent for expanding repertoire). If you begin lessons with me partway through your musical journey, we will pick up where you left off, make sure your technique is strong, expand your repertoire and make sure your musical knowledge is sufficient.
