About Florence

Hello! My name is Florence and I am a first study violist at the Royal College of Music as the Jean Middlemiss Award Holder and have over 10 years of playing experience. I was a violist in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, have taken masterclasses with world renowned professionals such as Tasmin Little OBE and Nora Romanoff-Schwarzberg and I have recently won Essex Music Scholar of the Year 2023.

I have lots of previous experience of working with children, and have done many outreach projects with children of all ages. I am DBS checked and hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

About the lesson

I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and abilities so that every student can learn at a pace and in a way that works for them, because everyone is different!

I make sure my lessons are fun and engaging and that the student has a say in what they want to learn as learning is so much more enjoyable when we are doing something that we love!

I have knowledge of the ABRSM system so can help with grades if that is something that you are interested in, however equally I am happy to help you play music just for the fun of it.

Lesson lengths are variable depending on each student. Lessons are for all ages and beginners, intermediate and advance levels. Music theory lessons are for grades 1-5.
