About Marina

Originally from Chicago, I am now in the Montreal music scene. I have several years of experience as both a private instructor and educational conductor, having earned my bachelor's in viola performance at Florida State University. I believe that music serves a different purpose in everyone's lives, and I am here to help you discover that and achieve your goals. I have coached pre-professional students, hobbyists, chamber groups, and ensembles. I have significant experience in the niche of audition prep and am able to provide insight into excerpts, audition processes, and career paths due to my work for the Grant Park Orchestra in Chicago.

About the lesson

Lessons are for those of all ages, backgrounds, and levels. I use Suzuki materials with a revised method to build sight-reading skills. There is a consistent focus on the health and wellbeing of the musician's body, with a goal of injury prevention instead of injury treatment. I aim to inspire a healthy attitude towards the instrument and the music that encourages students to find their "why."
