About Holly
I have 9 years of experience teaching singing and hold a Doctorate in Vocal Performance and Music Pedagogy. My professional experience spans classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, along with advanced teaching strategies for learners of all skill levels.
My teaching philosophy emphasises individualised instruction, structured practice, and integration of technical skill with emotional and artistic expression. I create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore their voice, experiment with interpretation, and develop stage presence confidently.
Beyond teaching, I perform professionally, attend international masterclasses, and contribute to vocal pedagogy research. I am passionate about nurturing expressive, confident singers. Helping students discover their unique vocal voice, achieve technical excellence, and perform with authenticity is the most rewarding part of my work, and I find joy in witnessing their musical growth and self-expression unfold.

Singing lessons with me are carefully designed to cultivate a complete, well-rounded vocal ability that combines technical mastery with expressive artistry. Each student begins with an assessment of vocal range, tone quality, breath support, articulation, stylistic preferences, and performance goals. This evaluation allows me to tailor a lesson plan that strengthens both foundational skills and advanced expressive techniques.
Lessons integrate exercises for breath management, pitch accuracy, phrasing, resonance, diction, and emotional interpretation. Students engage with classical repertoire, contemporary songs, improvisation exercises, and performance simulations to build versatility and confidence. Mental rehearsal, visualisation, and self-assessment techniques are incorporated to enhance memorisation, expressive depth, and stage readiness. Every lesson emphasises the connection between technique and artistic expression, ensuring that students not only sing accurately but also communicate emotion convincingly.
Advanced learners focus on challenging repertoire, complex harmonies, improvisational skill, ensemble work, and live performance preparation. Constructive feedback is continuous, covering tone, articulation, phrasing, interpretation, and audience engagement. My goal is to help students gain technical mastery, develop expressive artistry, and build the confidence to perform publicly. Lessons foster lifelong appreciation for music while cultivating individual vocal identity and emotional connection with each performance.
