About Malwina
Malwina Masternak is a Polish vocalist, composer and educator who specializes in Jazz and creative contemporary music. She is currently participating in the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston, where she is mentored by Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Pérez and John Patitucci among others.
Malwina made appearances across the US and Canada, China, Europe and South America. Most recently, she performed at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola as a member of Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors ensemble, led by John Pattitucci. She also performed at Birdland, Rockwood Music Hall, Ryles Jazz Club, Scullers Jazz Club, Regatta Bar, Cornelia St. Café and Smalls.
Malwina is also a passionate music educator and entrepreneur. Already as an undergraduate student, she founded, directed and arranged for a vocal jazz ensemble, drawing both from her jazz and classical music backgrounds.

One of my main goals for my students is to impart to them a deeper understanding of vocal technique, as well as methods for implementing that technique into any genre of singing they choose. I'm fortunate that my own voice is extremely versatile and flexible, so I can help students with many different styles. I want to help them grow into the most original, complete and well-rounded musician they can be. I want them to come out with good musicianship skills. I want them to be able to count off tunes and know when to come in on the tune. I always make them count things off for me in the lessons so they'll learn to be direct with their band or their accompanist. I also want my students to be able to write their lead sheets, and do their own transpositions.
