About Remy

My energy is warm and welcoming, with a hint of silly just to keep you on your toes.

Living around the globe from as early as I can remember, being immersed in European and Asian cultures along with my American upbringing being the first born son to a military father, I have an appreciation and love for all walks of life. Some have told me I have an old soul, though I just think I remain present, and truly engage deeply with my fellow humans on all levels.

My experience teaching classroom English abroad in Japan and Korea, as well as beginner, intermediate, and professional level band, choir, orchestra, and jazz ensembles in America, has expanded my patience and given me a laser focused ability to identify accents, dialects, tone quality, and pronunciation. This is backed by a degree in music, with many years as a working musician, which focused heavily on ear training, transcription, and emulating the best musicians in the world from all time periods spanning the earliest of antiquity to modern day. I apply these same techniques that I used as a saxophonist, guitarist, and jazz singer, to the speaking voice.

My time as an entertainment industry coach, who's performed with Hollywood stars from as early as the age of 9, to coaching and speechwriting for UN presenters, I have been fortunate to gain experience that not only looks good on paper, it also gets results.

About the lesson

My teaching method is catered specifically to each speaker using a science based, anatomy driven understanding of the body, how it connects to the voice, and what we can do as orators to bring a piece of written literature or sides of a script to life.

A typical 30 minute lesson will hone in on your pronunciation, phonetics, accents, and dialects. These are student speaking heavy lessons, with many reps utilizing call and response of highlighted areas in your given text.
