About Mehmet
100% of my students from last year improved at least one grade. Average grade improvement was 1.7 grades. I tutored 8 students last year.
I am an Economics undergraduate at the University of Warwick with over three years of tutoring experience. I also run a tutoring agency and oversee the teaching of 8 tutors. Having achieved one of the highest marks in the country when I sat A-Level Economics, ranking in top 0.5%, I understand the challenges students face in making the step up from GCSE.
My teaching approach is centred on clarity and confidence. I use real-world examples to bring abstract theories to life, and I focus on exam technique by working through past papers, mark schemes, and essay structures. All my students write and receive feedback on one long-form essay every week, with no extra cost. This ensures students know exactly how to apply their knowledge in an exam setting.
Beyond tutoring, I have undertaken internships at investment banks, private equity firms, and international law firms. These experiences allow me to introduce students to the ways economic concepts appear in practice and to offer guidance for those considering academic or career opportunities beyond their A-Levels. Additionally, I provide in-depth personal statement reviews for my students.

I teach A-Level Economics exclusively and work with a small group of students each year. This approach allows me to dedicate significant time to each individual, tailoring both lessons and homework to their needs and ensuring measurable progress over time.
I focus on teaching A-Level Economics in a way that makes the subject engaging and approachable. Rather than relying only on theory, I place emphasis on dialogue, critical thinking, and the ability to connect ideas across different parts of the syllabus. Students are encouraged to build arguments, challenge assumptions, and approach questions with curiosity, which develops the evaluative skills that examiners reward most highly.
Each student receives tailored guidance. I tutor very few students, keeping the cohort deliberately small, so that lessons can adapt to individual learning styles, and I use a mixture of discussion, structured exercises, and independent tasks to consolidate understanding. I take time to mark weekly exam-focused homework. This balance helps students apply material better it in unfamiliar contexts.
My aim is to make Economics less intimidating by showing how models and theories operate in practice. I integrate examples from current policy debates, business developments, and global events, which helps students to see the subject as dynamic and relevant rather than abstract. This also provides them with a richer base of examples to use in essays and exams.
