About Diane

When I was a missionary, I was mostly with the natives and as a result, I was able to pronounce the correct way, became better at listening and understanding their language. I learned a lot about their culture and their values. I had other missionaries that struggled with the language more than I did, but with time they were able to be fluent and speak with confidence. If they can, so can you! I know some people will struggle with pronunciation, reading, or vocabulary but I promise that these lessons will help you understand this language with confidence and you will be able to communicate with the Cambodian people.

About the lesson

learned to read, write, and speak Khmer in about a year—yes, a whole new alphabet and everything. Once you crack the letters and the pronunciation, the rest starts falling into place (way faster than you think). I got a head start before going to Cambodia, and being around native speakers every day pushed me to level up quick.
Since I learned Khmer the harder way, I’ve learned to teach in a way that’s easier for you. I know exactly where people get stuck—and how to make it way less confusing. I teach it step-by-step, no stress, no boring grammar lectures. If I could get fluent in a year, I can definitely help you start speaking with confidence too.

I prefer 30 minute per lesson, an hour may be too much learning a completely new language. As you start to improve we can move on to doing an hour
