About Heesoo
I am a Junior currently attending Washington University in St. Louis. I am currently majoring in Marketing and I am really excited to be a tutor. As a student attending Washington University in St. Louis, I have learned how to write amazing essays and how to take tests during my years.
Typically for writing, I will start with the basic rules such as show don't tell and give you point to point lesson on how you can create a better narrative throughout your essay. First, we will figure out your strong suits and weaknesses and learn to harness your strong points while editing and working on your weaknesses. Then, we will talk about the writing process and the steps in a writing process. For the actual writing, I can help with everything and have experience teaching all styles of writing. Whether it be argumentative essays or creative or even ones for college, I know I can be of help. I will also help you learn how to polish your essays and how you can proofread. Editing one's essay can be a daunting task, thus, I will help teach you how to write a cohesive essay through multiple drafts.
For SAT and ACT tutoring, I know how to take these tests and know the best strategies not only for taking the test but also studying for them. On the SAT, I scored a 1580 and a 35 on the ACT. I also took the SAT 2 subject tests (Chem, Math2, Lit and Bio) and AP tests (Lang, US, Calc 2 and more), both of which I got full marks on all the tests. I know that these test scores were not by accident but by utilizing the test taking skills and study skills that I have harnessed. I also have already tutored multiple students whether it be TOEFL or SAT or ACT. All my students saw substantial improvement whether it be a student taking TOEFL going from 60 to 98 or SAT going from 1100 to 1500 in the span of 3 months.
My lessons can benefit anyone who is trying to improve their essay writing abilities or their test taking abilities.
