About Sava

Sava has taught in-person and online violin and viola lessons for 4 years with students of all levels from ages 5-65! Having played the violin and viola for 15 years, she is ready to get to know your playing style and challenge you to think outside the box. From learning music that prepares you for auditions or performances, to jamming out to the latest pop song, Sava is able to help you take on any musical goals you have. Sava is an avid arranger, having adapted hundreds of pop/rock/folk/electronic/etc. songs to play on violin and viola. If you have a particular song you want to play, let Sava know because she may already have the music! Sava is a member of multiple orchestras and has won numerous music competitions as well as having played in concerts around the world. She knows the secret behind masterful music making and is truly invested in the development of her students' musical journeys. There is no right answer to what is good music, but there is definitely a feeling you get when you hear it and an even more impactful sensation you get when playing it for others.

About the lesson

During the first lesson, students can expect to discuss their short and long term music goals and play a piece that they've recently worked on - beginners do not worry! Sava will help you get set up and provide you with learning materials. Afterwards, Sava will discuss potential paths on how to achieve your goals and tailor a unique lesson plan to get you there.

Each lesson will begin with a discussion on the student's practice; what they've accomplished, any breakthroughs, and what skills still need some time to click. Sava will guide each student on exercises and concepts that will help strengthen their playing and mindset as they practice for the next lesson.

Sava has a large selection of music to explore and develop your skills, but will always be open to arranging or working on any music that you may be interested in.

There are three words that summarize the very first step of improving your playing : practice, Practice, and PRACTICE! :)
