Mark Smith
BMus (Hons) PGDip LRAM
I studied for a Music Degree at King's College, London and a Postgraduate Diploma at The Royal Academy of Music, as well as gaining an LRAM teaching qualification.
Since then I've worked as a professional Musician and Conductor in London on some of the UK's biggest West End musicals, including "Matilda", "Jersey Boys", "Mamma Mia!", "The Book of Mormon", "Waitress", "Motown" and "Dreamgirls".
I've taught well over 100 people to play the piano and I still love that every student has a unique approach and journey.

I've worked as a Musical Director, Musician and Conductor in London for over 10 years. I've worked on some of London's biggest West End musicals, including "Matilda", "Jersey Boys", "Mamma Mia!", "The Book of Mormon", "Waitress", "Motown" and "Dreamgirls".
I have now moved back home to Cornwall with my family, whilst continuing to commute to London to work on the shows. I am taking on a limited number of students here in Cornwall, teaching Piano, and working with Musical Theatre performers who want to improve their Acting Through Song or preparing to audition for Drama School.
Our lessons are fun and engaging and I take great pride in creating bespoke lessons and responding to the student I have in the room. Every student is given a bespoke program along with a detailed, individual practise plan to help them develop as quickly as possible.

My home studio timetable is currently full but I am able to offer a limited number of home visits in Penzance and surrounding towns. Please get in touch if you live further afield to discuss.
