About Yunuscan
I am an experienced educator and academic tutor with more than 8 years of experience working with K–12, college, adult, and ESL students. I hold a B.A. in English from Wheaton College and a 120-hour TEFL certification from the University of Toronto.
Throughout my tutoring career, I have helped students improve their writing, reading comprehension, academic performance, and confidence. I have worked with students with a wide range of learning styles and abilities, including students who need additional support with organization, grammar, essay development, and expressing their ideas clearly.
I believe strong tutoring begins with understanding the individual student. I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable, and I work to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills at their own pace.
My goal is to help students succeed on their immediate assignments while also building the skills and confidence they need to become more independent learners and writers.

My writing lessons are personalized to each student’s goals, skill level, and learning style. With more than 8 years of tutoring experience, I help students strengthen every stage of the writing process—from brainstorming and outlining to drafting, revising, editing, and polishing a final paper.
A typical lesson may include reviewing an assignment or essay prompt, identifying the student’s main ideas, creating a clear thesis and organized outline, and working together to strengthen structure, evidence, grammar, vocabulary, and overall clarity. Rather than simply correcting a student’s work, I explain why changes are needed so students develop skills they can apply independently to future assignments.
I work with elementary, middle school, high school, college, adult, and ESL students. Lessons can focus on academic essays, argumentative and persuasive writing, research papers, personal statements, reading responses, grammar, or general writing improvement.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and highly individualized. My goal is not only to help students produce better papers, but also to help them become more confident, organized, and effective writers.
