I utilize different methods/approaches depending on each learner. I make the most of the Modern Communicative Approach, CLIL Approach, Task-Based Language Teaching, Writing-Diary Process, etc. For example, for learners who want to improve their communicative skills, I will make much of the communicative approach, or if the learner hopes to brush up their pronunciation level, I will employ the phonological approach. I'm very flexible with plenty of needs which, I believe, can be achieved by my 20 years of teaching experience.

Perfect! I recently had the pleasure of taking an introductory Japanese class with Ken and I’m so glad I did. As someone with absolutely no prior knowledge of the language, I truly appreciated his patience and the calm, encouraging way he guided me through my first steps.
He helped me learn some essential basics for my upcoming travels to Japan, and we even prepared a full sheet of useful phrases and vocabulary tailored specifically for my trip. I’ve since printed it out and look forward to carrying it with me — it’s already helping me feel more confident and prepared.
Thank you for making my first experience with Japanese so positive and practical!- I recently had the pleasure of teaching Lydia a Japanese lesson at a local café, and it was a wonderful experience. Lydia is a passionate and intelligent learner who brings both curiosity and focus to her studies. As she’s preparing for a trip to Japan, she came to the lesson with clear goals and strong motivation.Kensaku's response :
We started with the basics of the Japanese phonetic system, and she picked up hiragana and pronunciation patterns very quickly. She asked thoughtful questions and showed a natural ability to connect sounds with written characters. We also practiced essential travel phrases, with a focus on how to order food at a restaurant—one of the most useful skills for visitors. Lydia was highly engaged and eager to role-play real-life situations.
Her enthusiasm and quick learning made the session both effective and fun. I’m confident she’ll do great during her stay in Japan.
Perfect! Kensaku gave me some good advice and explained rules patiently. He answered the million questions I had and was exactly the kind of tutor I needed for a couple of lessons before my trip to Japan.
- Lucie is a highly motivated learner with a passion for acquiring new expressions and grammar concepts.Kensaku's response :
She is planning to visit Japan for leisure soon, so I'm hopeful that she'll seize the opportunity to engage with locals using as much Japanese as possible!
Perfect! Even though Kensaku was teaching me mostly in Japanese, they're very considerate of my level and what I may or may not know or be comfortable with yet, which I appreciate a lot. He helped out with my weak points for grammar with activities that help nail in the things I've learned during the lessons. Very helpful.
- Kim is very intelligent and passionate! He has self-studied a lot already, so he has a lot of grammar knowledge and knows a lot of expressions! We practiced conversation skills and Te-forms practices today! We had a very high-quality lesson!Kensaku's response :
Perfect! Sensei is very understanding of my learning needs and answers perfectly to all of them. He makes learning Japanese with him very fun, entertaining while being very efficient.
- Jojo (Jonathan) is a highly motivated student with a lot of background knowledge he gained by himself. He is very curious about learning new grammar and expressions that he always tries to make/use them! I am honored with his endless effort and passion to learn Japanese! I am excited to see how he will make a progress from now on!!Kensaku's response :
Perfect! Kensaku is a great teacher who takes time to explain in detail the material along with breaking it down to clearly understand. He adjusts to you and makes you feel comfortable.
- Catherine is a highly motivated student and we learned some basic expressions in Japanese. Although she has just started her Japanese learning, I believe she will become very good at not only communicating but also writing a variety of kanjis.Kensaku's response :
