About Anna

With years of experience both on stage and as an educator, I bring a well-rounded, global perspective to my teaching. I’ve had the privilege of studying at some of the world’s most respected institutions, including The Colburn School in Los Angeles, three years of intensive training in Tokyo, and currently, under world-renowned violinist Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory in Boston. I am also a winner of the Young Instrumentalist Prize and the National Australian Chamber Competition, and a finalist of the National Concerto Competition. Whether you're a beginner just starting your journey, a dedicated student preparing for exams or auditions, or an advanced player looking to refine your artistry, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow with confidence and joy.

About the lesson

About My Teaching Approach As a passionate violinist and dedicated tutor, I work with students of all ages and levels—from complete beginners to advanced performers. Whether you’re picking up the violin for the first time or preparing for competitions and conservatory auditions, I tailor each lesson to your goals and pace. My Teaching Method My approach is grounded in how harmony should be reflected in how one plays, while also having strong foundations in posture and tone production. As we progress, I guide students through increasingly complex techniques and musical phrasing, helping them interpret music deeply and personally. A Typical Lesson Plan Lessons are structured yet flexible: 1. tuning 2. Technical work (scales, bowing, shifting, etc.) 3. Repertoire study with musical and stylistic focus 4. Short-term goals + practice tips for the week I also adapt depending on whether the student is preparing for school performances, exams, competitions, or playing just for fun. As I currently study under the legendary **Miriam Fried** at the New England Conservatory, I will also teach her theory of harmony and phrasings.
