Assessment & Evaluation
Throughout the lesson, the teacher is monitoring the students’
progress in their individual work.
Students have the opportunity to practice speaking, listening,
reading, and writing skills through the various activities. The teacher will be able to evaluate students’ speaking and listening during discussions. Throughout the writing unit, the teacher will collect the various worksheets and be able to effectively evaluate the students’ writing progress. By the end of the unit, the students will compile a notebook detailing the steps of the writing process, showing that they have mastered the lesson objective.
This lesson plan has several benefits. First, this lesson plan effectively activates students’ schema and initially lowers the affective filter. Second, this lesson plan extends and reinforces students’ prior knowledge of the academic writing process. Lastly, this lesson plan integrates the four communication competencies students need to continually
practice to become effective communicators.
