About Amaya
I’m a singing tutor with over ten years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. My greatest joy is helping students build vocal confidence and truly believe in their own sound. I work with shy beginners, teen performers, and aspiring recording artists, guiding each one to find strength in their voice. I understand that performance anxiety can hold singers back, so I create a supportive space where every student can grow at their own pace. My lessons blend technique and creativity, focusing on breath control, expressive phrasing, and vocal health. Whether it’s Pop, Indie, R&B, or Contemporary Worship, I teach students how to connect emotionally with every song they sing. I also provide live performance coaching, helping singers step onto the stage—or in front of a microphone—with poise and energy. Through exercises and practice, I show students how to tell stories through music, not just sing notes. Every lesson is designed to nurture not just the voice, but the heart behind it. Together, we’ll explore styles, unlock new skills, and celebrate every breakthrough. Most of all, we’ll discover your voice and enjoy the journey of musical self-expression.

My singing methodology is designed to help every student uncover their unique vocal identity while growing creatively. I focus on three pillars: vocal tone shaping, song interpretation, and storytelling through music. For adult beginners, lessons begin with simple vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, and confidence-building techniques to create a comfortable, judgement-free space. We explore genres like jazz, pop, folk, and classical so they can find styles that inspire them. Advanced teens benefit from deeper challenges like improvisation, harmony building, and experimenting with vocal textures. They learn how to shape phrases, express emotions, and turn every song into their own story. Both groups use tools like lyric analysis sheets to understand meaning, vocal journals to track progress, and melody trainers for precision and control. We even integrate DAWs for creative recording projects, letting students hear and refine their voice in real time. Genre exploration is key—switching between ballads, upbeat songs, and even experimental styles keeps lessons exciting and sparks artistic curiosity. Improvisation exercises teach flexibility, helping students develop confidence and originality. Above all, my goal is to guide each singer to discover not just how to sing, but how to *express themselves fully* through music.
