About Mark
I've been learning English in a self-taught way since the age of four. I realised early on that I have a natural talent for languages, especially when it comes to picking up and replicating accents. As a top student in advanced language studies and via a long-distance relationship spanning continents, I developed my English to a native level; this is what I now want to pass on to you.
The path we're going to take together is one I've explored myself. With focused effort, I was able to refine my pronunciation and vocabulary within a few weeks to such a degree that people could not tell me apart from those born and raised in QLD.
An accent is not a mistake. Everyone has one, and it can definitely be acquired! It can also make a real difference when you are integrating into a new environment. My goal is to help you open up new opportunities and build real human connections, whether you are preparing for work, settling into the country, or simply want to boost your confidence.

I offer both flexible, ad-hoc conversation sessions and a structured program spread over multiple lessons. You will also have access to my own supporting materials in both written and audiovisual formats.
During the course, you will learn and practice your chosen dialect (American, British, or Australian) through three focus areas: pronunciation, vocabulary and spelling. You can expect a friendly but professional environment, where you’ll not only practice the language but also learn through interesting insights and historical examples about how linguistic habits developed in different regions.
A sneak peek of the materials I authored and will share with you include:
• introductory booklet to help you find the dialect that suits you best
• short placement tests to help evaluate your skills and address your needs
• pronunciation training using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
• compendium to help you learn and memorise spelling conventions
