About Adam
I'm a writer and educator from North Carolina. My short fiction and poetry have appeared in multiple literary journals and anthologies, and I am co-founder of Flashes of Hillsborough, a community arts collaborative bringing together writers and visual artists to create works on place and memory.

My method is a seminar/lecture hybrid; I'm interested in a mutual discovery of the text as much as I am in instructing and elucidating the text for the student. Ultimately, my concern is with the comfort level of the students, and exploring literature in ways that work for them. It's hard to fully grasp concepts when your environment is not conducive to engaging the best parts of us.
A typical lesson includes a reader-first approach to the text. Historical and critical analyses will be important aspects of our discussion, but these critical lenses are supplemental tools for viewing the living, breathing text as the student experiences it.
These lessons are designed for the eager student of literature, from the precocious teen to the seasoned academic. Anyone who is interested in delving deeper into the fascinating world of literature is welcome.
