About Sean
I am currently finishing my baccalaureate degree in History and plan to pursue a Fine Arts Master's in Writing afterward. I have over a decade of experience tutoring students in English literature and rhetoric as a college student and professional. I have also written research papers presented at conferences and several creative works published in magazines. I believe in the transformative qualities of literature and argument.

Writing begins with reading well. I begin my lessons by showing students examples of effective argumentative writing, ensuring first that they are capable of understanding the argument rendered but furthermore how they are able to judge its efficacy as argument. The good thing is that this process can be done with multimedia sources such as music videos, songs, poems, novels, short stories, magazine articles, etc. I will then ask the students to form their own arguments and write short sample pieces that display their understanding and ability to effectively persuade an audience.
My lessons are designed for high school students who are struggling with basic reading and writing, but also work for college students who want to expand their rhetorical capabilities in the written word.
