About Karina

Hello, how are you? I'm Karina, and I am an Indonesian native speaker, born and raised in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Currently, I live in France and partly in the Netherlands.

Passionate about learning language since a very young age. This passion led me to get serious about learning the French language and literature that I took for my undergraduate program. I speak a little bit of Italian and German. Lately, I've started learning Dutch. As a polyglot, it's always a pleasure to meet like-minded people. Whether you are one of them or not, if you wish to start learning Bahasa Indonesia I am here to help you.

Other than learning languages and teaching them to children and adults, I also love, traveling, cultural outings, and reading. I am also interested in philosophy and psychology.

About the lesson

I used to volunteer as a tutor buddy for international students in my hometown. As a tutor buddy, I helped my friends learn Indonesian, in daily conversation. I gladly tailored my materials according to their needs. To get my friends better understand the local custom, I also include manners and cultural aspects in my class.

Additionally, I have 1 year experience of teaching French to beginners. I usually prepare my own module and exercise consisting of reading, speaking, listening, and writing.

By the end of every session, I will normally be giving homework. This homework is purposely to help you advance in your learning journey. Worry not, because this homework will not be a heavy task, and it is going to help you a lot to get to the next milestone.
Whether your goal is to be able to communicate with native speakers during your relocation or holiday to Indonesia, or for academic purposes, I will try to make the session suitable for you, by tailoring my lessons according to your needs and goal. More importantly, it is going to be quite an experience.
