About Nate

I have over 4 years of teaching experience and an Associate of Music in Piano Skills. My teaching centers on helping students perform with confidence in real-world settings. Many of my students are worship leaders who want to guide congregations with music. Others are theater pianists who need to support live performance. Some are wedding band players who prepare for professional gigs. I tailor each lesson to the individual’s needs and goals. Technique is important, but I make sure it always connects to performance. Students learn to manage nerves, play expressively, and adapt quickly. Worship pianists practice flow and sensitivity. Theater players build strong timing and collaboration skills. Wedding pianists develop flexibility across genres. My lessons are motivating, supportive, and always practical. I believe every student deserves the chance to play with confidence and joy.

About the lesson

My piano teaching approach is all about creating independent readers of music. I emphasize systematic sight-reading practice in every lesson. Students learn to identify intervals, patterns, and rhythms quickly. Speed-reading drills train them to stay ahead of the notes. This builds visual-to-finger coordination for confident playing. Rhythm accuracy is another key focus. I use clapping and tapping drills to make timing secure. For children, I design playful challenges that keep them engaged. For adults, I use structured reading strategies tied to real music. I’m skilled at supporting The Child Prodigy and The Hobbyist Adult. Both groups thrive with my dedicated drills and personal encouragement. Lessons balance structure with enjoyment. Over time, students can sit at the piano and play unfamiliar pieces smoothly.
