About Cathrine
Teaching violin provides me the space to witness the genuine growth of others. Admittedly, I still find the initial bridge from mechanical tension to melodic ease the most difficult part of the process. My background at the Royal College of Music fuels my focus on shifting positions, tone production, rhythm and timing, and tuning by ear.
I guide students through the complexities of spiccato and staccato bowing while managing the needs of 167 students to ensure technical stability.
Precision in technique remains the foundation of my teaching style.

The bridge of a violin feels cold against your fingertips until you find the right weight. I set the pace of our 7 sessions by observing how your body reacts to the instrument during the first few minutes.
We build habits around rhythm and tuning because these elements support everything else you play. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class ensure that your progress continues long after we finish. My approach ensures your technique remains grounded while you work towards the stage.
I'm happy to help you and find your unique voice!
