Ai has been my Japanese tutor since late 2024. She’s incredibly patient and understanding, allowing me to go at my own pace whilst gently challenging and pushing, and adjusting lessons to suit my abilities and accommodate for migraines, work overload and ADHD-fuelled mind chaos. I've been having lessons with Ai for several months to keep up with my Japanese comprehension. Her lessons are so engaging and fun, we are always able to cover a great range of topics in an hour. My reading and speaking have greatly improved and her assignments make for great practice. I always appreciate how friendly and helpful she is, she covers every detail - including making live notes of what phrases and words I didn't know (great for flashcards and revision!). I can't recommend her highly enough for all levels!

I've had the pleasure of being tutored by Ai-Sensei since 2020, when I was in my first year of university. She takes the time to explain concepts if I ever struggle and pushes me to do my best. I recently completed learning the 2100+ compulsory Jōyō Kanji. It has been a hard journey, but Ai-sensei has helped me push through and learn almost all of the Kanji!

Ai is so organised, keeping track of what they're working on, checking homework and knowing exactly what they'll be covering each week. Ai is great at communicating with any schedule changes, offering alternative lesson times if necessary and is always punctual.

Ai has been tutoring me for around three months now in preparation for a trip to Japan. She's extremely patient and has helped immensely, even giving me tips about culture and general advice to help me out whilst there - I would definitely recommend her, especially to anyone starting out!

Ai is a great Japanese tutor. I started self-teaching myself Japanese and decided I needed a tutor and Ai has been fantastic at helping me improve my speaking and general understanding of Japanese.

Ai also tries to keep the lessons varied between study text reading, flashcards, listening exercises and even just have a general conversation. All new vocabularly learned Ai adds to our shared work document, which gives me the opportunity to learn and add it to my own speaking, which goes beyond the vocab lists found in Genki.

Ai also has a discord channel which I think helps her stand out as it gives students a chance to engage outside of class in Japanese. I personally am not a big user of the Discord server, but that's more due to my current confidence in writing Japanese. As I get better, I can see myself trying to contribute to it more.
