About Jamie

I’m Jamie, I’m a 22 year old Psychology Graduate and Professional Musician. I have been playing guitar for over a decade and have been gigging and writing music for around half that time. I have gigged in many venues such as Whelans, Opium, The Workmans Club, The Grand Social etc. I am an experienced teacher having taught EAL (English as an Additional Language) in a primary school and worked as a tutor in a Pre-school for children with autism. I adore teaching, playing, and talking about music and my enthusiasm definitely comes across during lessons.

About the lesson

Level 1 - This stage is around familiarising yourself with the instrument and some basic music theory. Learning the different parts of the guitar, recognising how we make different sounds, and understanding the difference between notes and chords. Every student must be comfortable with this level before we can move on.

After this stage the lessons become more tailored to the individual student. We will discuss specific goals, interests, and parts that you are struggling with. From there we will setup a long term but dynamic plan to further your musical skills. This plan will be updated as we go along once certain milestones have been reached and/or if your interests change or develop.

For younger students I would suggest 45min lessons at a rate of €15. If I see that the student has progressed and may benefit from the full hour session at €20/hr I will discuss this with the student and/or parent/guardian.
