About Jade

Music theory, sight playing, and classical repertoire form the bedrock of my instruction. I am a self-taught musician with 12 years of gigging across Nashville and LA circuits. My 13 years of experience helps me guide adults and grade exam candidates through jazz improvisation and complex memorization techniques.

I emphasize dynamics, expression, and pop accompaniment skills in every interaction. Understanding the mechanics behind music allows me to simplify difficult concepts for advanced learners. My approach is rooted in the reality of the stage. You will find my teaching style both practical and highly effective.

Sitting down at the keys, we begin with a diagnostic playing assessment to map out your technical strengths. This data allows me to design a plan that integrates your musical interests into the curriculum immediately.

I pace our work to ensure you internalize the theory while maintaining creative momentum on the instrument. My background as a producer means I view the piano as an engine for songwriting, arrangement, and recording tasks. Expect honest feedback on your dynamics and phrasing throughout our hour together.
