About Carol
Pacing remains the core of my teaching philosophy. Clear, immediate feedback is the bedrock of technical improvement.
My MMus degree allows me to break down music theory into digestible, actionable segments for every player. I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep your home practice focused. We often spend time on rhythm and timing to ensure your musicality shines through. The structure of our hour together is designed to maximize both comfort and technical precision.
I watch for signs of tension in the shoulders or wrists to prevent fatigue. This balanced approach ensures you feel supported during the difficult moments of learning a new piece. My intent is to provide a calm, precise environment for your development. I hope to see you in the practice room soon.

Teens and advanced learners often seek a deeper connection to their instrument. Playing violin is an act of physical coordination. My 11 years of experience includes working with 173 students to refine their posture and left hand agility.
Growing up in a musical environment in Quebec, I learned to see the violin as an extension of the voice. I use my Conservatoire training to explain complex shifts and vibrato techniques in plain terms. Kids enjoy the clear, measurable goals we set during our practice sessions.
Keeping track of your progress through scales and arpeggios is essential for growth. I look forward to supporting your musical journey toward the goals you have set for yourself.
