About Melissa
I am an experienced online English tutor with a TESOL certification and a Master's degree in Information Studies from the University of Toronto. For years, I have taught adults from diverse backgrounds around the world, consistently receiving student satisfaction scores of 98–100%.
Before teaching English online, I worked at an adult literacy center and spent more than a decade in corporate information centers, training investment and legal professionals to use specialized resources. These experiences helped me develop a patient, practical approach and an understanding of the communication demands people face at work.
I support students with conversational and business English, mock interviews, and navigating cultural differences. I take pride in helping people build the confidence and skills they need to pursue their career aspirations and personal goals.
You can expect a prepared, supportive tutor who takes your progress seriously—and brings a sense of humor to our lessons.

Your English lessons should reflect your goals, interests, and everyday life. Whether you need English for work, academic study, or daily conversations, I tailor our one-to-one lessons to what matters to you.
I am TOEFL-trained, hold a Master’s degree, and have a certification in English for Academic Purposes. My approach combines active listening, gentle repetition, and practical scenarios to help you build confidence and use English in everyday, professional, and academic settings.
We start by discussing your needs and identifying what you would like to improve. A typical lesson includes reading comprehension and conversation about subjects relevant to your interests, with focused practice and supportive feedback along the way.
I bring patience, a sense of humour, and a personalised approach to every lesson. You will have space to ask questions, make mistakes, and practise without feeling rushed or judged.
My lessons are for adults and teenagers who want individual support with English, including students pursuing academic degrees and professionals developing their communication skills.
