About Nicole
Bluegrass festivals in the American South provided the backdrop for my earliest musical memories. I earned a BA in Folk Music from Berea College in Kentucky to ground my playing in academic tradition. These 7 years of experience have shaped a calm approach to teaching complex techniques like spiccato or vibrato. I prioritize listening over rushing through material during our time together.
My technique focuses on tone production and clean shifting positions across the fingerboard. Managing grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity students is a standard part of my routine.
Tuning by ear remains a core discipline I emphasize for every pupil. Patience defines my studio environment for both teens and returning adults. Reach out if you want to explore these methods.

Testing your current ability is the first step before I suggest a practice plan. Diagnostic assessments allow me to see exactly where your bowing technique needs fine tuning. We work on specific orchestral passages or complex staccato runs once the foundation is set.
My 7 years of experience in folk traditions informs how I approach classical literature. You will find that shifting positions becomes second nature through steady repetition.
