About Naomi

Hi, I’m a piano tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano. I offer personalised lessons tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. My teaching covers chord theory, ear training, improvisation, and performance skills to help students develop a well-rounded musical foundation. I work with students of all levels—from beginners just starting out to advanced players working towards mastery. I also guide those preparing for performances, competitions, or recordings, helping them build confidence and technique. My experience spans a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, pop, and more. Lessons are engaging and supportive, with a focus on making learning enjoyable while fostering growth. I emphasise practical skills as well as creative expression, helping students find their unique musical voice. About the lesson

My piano teaching approach is designed for students preparing performances, competitions, or recordings. I focus on building strong fundamentals while tailoring lessons to each student’s goals. Posture and hand technique are emphasised to ensure comfort and prevent strain during extended playing. I guide students in phrasing and musical expression so every piece communicates emotion and intention. Stage presence is a key part of my coaching; I help students feel confident and natural while performing. For those preparing recordings, I teach techniques using digital tools like DAWs and audio analysis apps to refine sound quality and timing. I support students in excelling in exams, church performances, and other formal settings, helping them navigate repertoire with skill and confidence. Lessons include practical tips for memorisation, sight-reading, and interpretation. I encourage consistent practice, but focus on making it enjoyable and meaningful. Each session is a mix of structured guidance and creative exploration. Students learn to perform with poise, adapt to different musical contexts, and express themselves fully. My goal is to nurture both technical mastery and artistic growth.
