About Melody

Teaching songwriting is rarely about teaching someone how to write a song because the ideas are already there. My role is to help you refine those rough concepts into tracks you are genuinely proud of. Over 10 years in the industry, I have supported many students in finding their unique voice.

This process involves sharpening your imagery and detail in lyrics while ensuring you master the prosody that matches your words to the melody. Collaboration is a major part of the craft, so I emphasize co-writing strategies that make your storytelling more impactful.

We will work through harmony basics and explore how shifting your point of view can change the entire mood of a piece. Having guided numerous students through this creative journey, I focus on the technical side of the writing process. My background with a BS in Recording Arts allows me to provide a grounded perspective on how lyrics live inside a production. You will find that my approach remains relaxed and creative even when we are deep in the weeds of structure.

About the lesson

Admitting that I prefer messy first drafts over polished perfection often surprises my students. This is why we prioritize a real session-style workflow where you leave with something tangible every time we meet.

Whether you are a teen just starting out or a gigging musician refining your catalog, we focus on immediate progress. You will spend our time together crafting hooks and building out the architecture of your song in real time.
