About Barclay Ann
I am a writer and mentor with years of experience in writing, editing, and proofreading. I received my MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars in Writing and Literature, with a focus on Poetry and Nonfiction. Previously I worked for Wiley Publishing as a Copyeditor and Editor before moving to freelance editing and proofreading with well-renowned writers who needed an extra pair of eyes on their work.
I have tutoring and mentoring experience from working at the Appalachian State University Writing Center where I assisted undergraduate and graduate students at various stages of the writing process. I supported students working on projects ranging from research papers to creative assignments, helping them refine ideas and develop confidence in their own writing voice, while elevating their close reading skills. I also worked as an Assistant teacher to a high school creative writing class, leading in-class workshops and facilitating discussions about assigned readings and the work of the students. Whether you need a fresh pair of eyes on a poem or you seek guidance on writing an essay, I'm here to support and guide you through every revision!
