About Ramesh
With over 20 years of dedicated teaching experience, I am committed to guiding students to reach their full potential in business studies and beyond. My academic qualifications, including an MBA, M.Ed., and a degree in Psychology, provide me with a comprehensive understanding of both the subject matter and the unique learning needs of each student. Specializing in Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and case study-based teaching, I design each lesson to encourage critical thinking, real-world application, and a deeper engagement with the material.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My approach to teaching is centered around an interactive, student-focused methodology that emphasizes Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). I use case studies extensively to help students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, enabling them to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By analyzing business scenarios, students are encouraged to think beyond the basics and explore the complexities of each case, gaining deeper insight into the subject matter.
I also incorporate techniques from K. Patricia Cross’s Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs), such as the “Concept Mapping” method, to help students organize and visually connect ideas. My teaching is based on a blend of Socratic questioning, group discussions, and scenario-based exercises to engage students in active learning. This approach enables students to articulate their thoughts, evaluate various viewpoints, and foster a collaborative environment for learning.
Typical Lesson Structure
Each lesson typically lasts 1.5 hours, striking a balance between covering substantial content and maintaining student engagement. The session begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce learning and segue into the new topic. Following this, I introduce a case study or problem related to the day’s subject, guiding students to analyze it through discussion and collaborative exercises. The last portion of the lesson is reserved for applying HOTS-based questions, which challenge students to synthesize, evaluate, and apply their knowledge in practical scenarios.
Qualifications and Experience
I bring over 20 years of experience as a lecturer, holding an MBA, an M.Ed., and a Psychology degree. My diverse educational background allows me to address both cognitive and emotional aspects of learning, enhancing student engagement and comprehension. My expertise includes developing cognitive improvement exercises and creating comprehensive programs for cognitive and academic development tailored for various age groups, including young adults.
Target Audience
My lessons are tailored for students preparing for SPM and STPM examinations, particularly those pursuing business studies. These students, typically aged 17-19, are at a pivotal stage of their academic journey, where they require in-depth understanding and analytical skills for future academic and professional success.
