About Cameron

For a while, I just walked around singing about whatever I was doing. Narrating my day, but in song. And I realized I really enjoyed it. Some of the songs were pretty funny, and other people seemed to enjoy them too.

Eventually, I connected with a band who took one of my songs and turned it into a full song with instrumentation and everything. It was an amazing experience. I felt like a particular part of myself was being seen, understood, and appreciated in a way I hadn't really experienced before.

That got me excited about exploring music more seriously, so I started learning an instrument. Since then, songwriting has brought so much more confidence, creativity, and enjoyment into my life.

What I love about it is how simple it can be. You take a feeling, a passing thought, or something completely ordinary that's happening in the moment, add a melody, and suddenly it's something entirely different. Sometimes it's silly, sometimes it's meaningful, and sometimes it's both.

That's what excites me about songwriting: taking the little things in life and turning them into something magical. And I'm excited to explore what that might look like for you.

About the lesson

I'm not teaching you how to write songs. I'm giving you a place to experiment with being yourself, express whatever you're feeling in a particular moment, and maybe even discover that creating something of your own can be a lot more fun and a lot less intimidating than you might've guessed.

It's not really about helping you, but guiding you back to yourself. Just to find a way to loosen up before we can actually let it all out.

We'll play with a few different songwriting techniques, experiment with ideas, and set a little intention behind what we're creating and why we're even bothering with all this.

I like to keep things light, keep it curious, and not ourselves too seriously. If there's some part of you that wants to be shared, and witnessed, even if it kinda scares you, then you're at the right place, and at just the right moment.

Just bring your normal/weird self, maybe an idea, a feeling, or nothing at all. And we'll find a way to make something out of it.
