About Somdatta
I'm currently an Undergraduate at The University of Cambridge, studying English. My passion has always been English Literature - particularly Postcolonial Literature - but that's not to say that I don't also enjoy STEM! At A-level, I took English Literature, Maths, Latin, and Physics, so I have a broad range of knowledge in a variety of subjects.
I've always loved teaching, and throughout my school life I worked a part-time job tutoring. I know how difficult it can be to balance a heavy workload with other commitments, so as a tutor, I will always take into account the student's comfort, and will never overwhelm them with work!
I love this job, because I love helping people and watching students' faces light up when they finally get the right answer - I hope that I can do the same for you, and be the quiet support necessary for you to succeed!

My approach to teaching is very much individualised; depending on the student, I alter my teaching methods to be suited to them.
Lessons are typically one-hour long, but this can be discussed further to find something suited to you. They'll be held over Zoom, and my timings are flexible.
I've been teaching students Maths and English since 2017, and my lessons are primarily structured to aid alongside school, so that I don't overburden students, but can still help them progress!
I teach students up to GCSE level in Maths, and can teach any level of English, though my focus is on English Literature and essay-writing.
I'm also happy to aid with university prep and personal statements, since I know how difficult the process can be - especially with little to no guidance! All the students I have helped with their personal statements have gone on to receive offers from their dream universities, and I hope to do the same for you!
I offer a free 30-minute consultation session to begin with, so I can get to know the student personally, and assess strengths and weaknesses. It also gives you a chance to decide if my lessons are suited to you. Then we can decide on a plan together, to make the most of your tuition sessions!
