About Naomi
With 3 years of experience as a French tutor, I have had the privilege to teach 150 to 200 students, helping them reach their language goals through personalized and adaptive instruction. I believe that language learning is most effective when it is tailored to the individual, so I take great care in understanding each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests to design lessons that resonate with them. My methodology emphasizes communication skills alongside grammar and vocabulary mastery. I use real-world contexts and culturally relevant materials to make lessons more relatable and practical. This approach helps students not only learn the language but also appreciate the culture behind it. One of my unique abilities is breaking down challenging linguistic concepts into manageable steps, allowing students to grasp them easily. I also employ a variety of teaching tools such as flashcards, games, and multimedia content to keep lessons dynamic and engaging. I prioritize building a positive learning environment where students feel motivated and confident. My patient and encouraging style helps learners overcome challenges and stay committed to their studies. Whether preparing for exams or seeking conversational fluency, I am dedicated to helping students succeed with a personalized and supportive approach.

My French teaching philosophy combines the clarity of structured grammar instruction with real-world application. I believe that a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary allows learners to express themselves more freely and accurately, while real-life context makes learning more relevant and memorable.
I start by helping students understand how French works—its patterns, structure, and rhythm. We work step-by-step through topics like verb conjugation, gender and agreement, negation, pronouns, and sentence formation. But I always make sure students immediately apply what they learn in conversations, role-plays, and writing tasks that mimic daily situations—ordering food, asking for directions, sharing opinions, or writing a letter.
My lessons emphasize interactive practice. I ask students to describe pictures, narrate their weekend, or express their dreams—all while reinforcing new vocabulary and grammar. I also provide clear, visual explanations to help them see patterns and make connections. Regular review and scaffolding ensure they retain what they’ve learned and feel confident moving forward.
To keep learning interesting, I incorporate elements of French culture and media. Whether it’s reading a short story, watching a short film, or discussing French cuisine or holidays, these moments help students connect with the language on a deeper level. They see that learning French is not just about grammar rules—it’s about discovering new ways of thinking and living.
One of the most fulfilling experiences I had was coaching a high school student through a challenging French literature course. Through careful explanation of texts, vocabulary breakdowns, and regular conversational review, the student moved from confusion to curiosity—and eventually began reading for enjoyment. That transformation reminds me why I teach.
Technology is also part of my toolkit. I use interactive quizzes, audio tracks, reading apps, and custom homework to help students review at their own pace. I track their progress and tailor each lesson to meet their evolving needs.
Above all, I want my students to see that French is attainable, logical, and deeply rewarding. My aim is not only to help them succeed in exams or assignments but also to feel a lasting sense of achievement and connection through the French language.
