Hi! My name is Alissa. I'm currently in my second year of pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).

I'm looking to offer part-time English tutoring during my semester break to share my knowledge, gain experience, and help students improve their English skills in a fun, patient, and engaging way.

As an English tutor for both primary and secondary school students, I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment tailored to each student’s level and learning style. I believe that language learning should be fun, meaningful, and confidence-building.

In my lessons, I use a mix of visual aids, real-life examples, games, and simple storytelling to make grammar and vocabulary easier to understand especially for younger learners. For secondary students, I integrate exam techniques, writing practice, speaking activities, and critical thinking tasks to prepare them for academic success.

A typical lesson begins with a quick warm-up (a fun quiz or speaking activity), followed by a focused learning section (covering grammar, vocabulary, or reading comprehension), and ends with practical application—like writing a paragraph, group discussion, or answering sample exam questions. I always check for understanding along the way and adapt on the spot to suit the student’s needs.

What makes my method unique is how I blend creativity and structure. I design lessons that feel like a conversation, not a lecture so students feel safe to express themselves and grow at their own pace. I also give students simple tips and memory tricks they can use outside the classroom.
