About Janine
I have always had an interest in all things languages and linguistics. Having studied French and Spanish at the University of St Andrews and worked in Madrid, I decided to obtain a CELTA qualification in Budapest followed by a PGCE from the University of Cambridge and, most recently, a Master of Education in Second Language Education also from Cambridge. A current school teacher, my tutoring experience spans a decade and my time spent teaching in the Primary classroom and in English summer schools is not far behind.

My lessons are aimed at children and teenagers of all levels of English. We will cover all areas of language learning (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) through film, games, music, and more. My teaching philosophy centres on putting the child at the core of their learning and inviting them to become curious about and playful with language, all while achieving excellent results. My Master of Education exploring multilingual identity has highlighted the importance of considering the learner holistically. Taking a genuine interest in who your child is, and using humour and respect to form a strong relationship with them is key.
