About Paloma

Hi, I’m Paloma. I am an admitted Australian lawyer (Supreme Court of Victoria and High Court of Australia) with over three years of post-admission experience in legal practice, and I currently work as an Associate to a Judge in the Criminal Division of the County Court of Victoria. My experience spans both private practice and the courts. I have worked as a solicitor in Melbourne, handling a range of complex legal matters, and I now work closely with a judge on serious criminal cases—reviewing briefs, analysing evidence, and engaging with the practical application of criminal law, procedure, and advocacy at a high level. This means I don’t just teach the law as it appears in textbooks, I teach how it is actually applied in court. I graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of International Relations (with a Distinction WAM), and was awarded Dux of Criminal Law along with multiple academic commendations. I have also won and placed highly in competitive advocacy-based competitions, including the Victorian Women Lawyers Expert Witness Examination Competition.
