About Kate
I taught English as a foreign language in Spain for 2 years, to students in public high schools as well as private one-on-one lessons.
I have tutored Brisbane high school students in a variety of subjects (English, French, science and maths).
I have many years experience learning languages myself (French, Spanish, some Japanese) so I know what the process is like, at all levels of proficiency.
I have a dual Bachelor of Arts/Science from the University of Queensland, as well as a Master of Bioethics from Monash University. I am skilled in academic writing and editing in both science and humanities.

I like to focus on speaking accuracy and fluency through conversation practice, as I feel that practising in a setting which is similar to what we experience in real life is the best way to learn. I give my students constructive feedback in a friendly way, with a smile! I am happy to tailor the lesson to your specific needs - if you prefer to focus on grammar or writing, particularly for academics, I am also very comfortable with this.
