About Lauren
Hi dancers! My name is Lauren Colson. I have over 15 years of dance training in a variety of styles specialising in ballet & contemporary.
Ballet:
As a result of my RAD training from Pre Primary - Advanced 2, I have a great understanding of the syllabus. I have taught Grades 1,3,4,5, Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Foundation, however, I have the ability to teach other grades as well.
Outside of RAD, I am able to create lesson plans for students who wish to extend their ballet training outside of a set syllabus.
Contemporary:
I have a Certificate 4 in Dance, which was completed at Ev & Bow full time training centre. Ev and Bow is a full-time dance course that focuses on contemporary dance. I've learnt and continue to learn from a range of industry professionals. Learning from such a range of talented teachers and performers I have acquired skills and creative processes that I can pass on to my own students.
My contemporary classes focus on creativity, individuality & authenticity. Sharing my genuine love for movement creation and self expression.
I value making my lessons a fun, safe and encouraging environment for all participants.

- With experience in teaching a wide range of ages, I have developed skills to tutor and teach dancers of varying experience and skill level.
- I love getting to know my students on a personal level to best understand their own individual way of learning and communicating - I have found this very effective.
- With over 15 years of training, I have learnt many different methods and tools to benefit my students and cater to their own individual needs.
- Private Lessons can usually range from 30mins - 90mins, however, this is flexible.
- I can help provide additional training for those preparing for RAD exams, or I can put together lessons plans for those who aren't following a syllabus but wish to extend their ballet or contemporary training.
