About Justin

About Me Hello! I'm Justin, a native English speaker from the US, currently pursuing a Master's in Economics at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Unlike standard English tutors, I bring real-world corporate experience to our lessons. I hold an MBA and have worked as a Product Manager for major global companies, including Toyota and Meta. I specialize in helping French professionals and students bridge the gap between "academic English" and the English actually used in top-tier business and university environments. Whether you need to nail a job interview, prepare for the GMAT/GRE, or master a presentation in English, I want to help you succeed. Why Choose Me? Trained to do it and have actually done it before: For 2 years during my MBA, I worked in the Business Career Services Center at the University of Florida College of Business, where I helped students develop their career goals, refine their resumes, and prepare for interviews. During my second year, I was promoted to supervise all graduate teaching assistants within the College of Business and personally led a project to increase the job placement rate for international students. Former Recruiter: During my 2+ years at Toyota North America, I worked on a team recruiting MBA students for internships and full-time roles. I reviewed resumes, interviewed candidates, and made hiring decisions. A common part of admission to US business schools is an interview of applicants by current students, of which I was a part, and understand what current students and admissions counselors look for. Real World Experience: I've presented in the boardroom and on TV, and across cultures. I got my start as a TV and radio presenter, where I learned to create and deliver effective presentations. I refined this skill in the corporate world, speaking to top executives from around the world. That is not just in the US, but also in Asia and Europe. Understand what it is like: As we say in English, “I have been in your shoes before”. Personally, I have taken the placement tests, applied to MBA and Master's programs, written and rewritten my resume and cover letters, gone through rounds of interviews, and given presentations. I know what it is like and have done it all before too. CV / Experience * Master in Economics: University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Current) * MBA (Master of Business Administration): University of Florida * Professional Experience: 4+ Years in Product Management * Native Language: English (American) About me Hello! My name is Justin, I am a native English speaker from the United States, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Unlike traditional English teachers, I bring practical experience from the business world to our classes. I hold an MBA and have worked as a product manager in large international companies, including Toyota and Meta. I specialize in helping French professionals and students bridge the gap between academic English and the English actually used in high-level professional and academic environments. Whether you want to ace a job interview, prepare for the GMAT/GRE, or master a presentation in English, I am here to help you achieve your goals. Why choose me? Trained and Experienced: For two years during my MBA, I worked at the Career Services Center for the University of Florida College of Commerce, where I helped students define their career goals, optimize their resumes, and prepare for job interviews. During my second year, I was promoted to supervisor of all teaching assistants in the College of Commerce and personally led a project to improve the job placement rate of international students. Former Recruiter: For over two years at Toyota North America, I worked on a team responsible for recruiting MBA students for internships and full-time positions. I reviewed resumes, conducted interviews, and made hiring decisions. Admission to American business schools typically includes an interview with applicants conducted by current students; I participated in these interviews and therefore understand the expectations of both students and admissions advisors. Professional Experience: I have presented in boardrooms, on television, and in multicultural settings. I began my career as a television and radio presenter, where I learned to craft and deliver impactful presentations. I honed this skill in the corporate world, speaking to high-level executives from around the globe, not only in the United States, but also in Asia and Europe. I understand your situation: as they say, "I've been there." I've personally taken placement tests, applied to MBA and master's programs, written and revised my resume and cover letters, participated in numerous interviews, and delivered presentations. I know what I'm talking about because I've been through it all. Resume/Experience * Master's in Economics: University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (in progress) * MBA (Master of Business Administration): University of Florida * Professional Experience: Over 4 years in product management * Native Language: English (American)

In English: How I Teach The teaching style I use is research-based and modeled on how top business schools in the US prepare students communicate effectively. The system is comprehensive, following a feedback-based Say, Show, Do framework that emphasizes clear and concise communication. It is not a one-size-fits-all program. We will tailor to your specific career goals, simulating real-world scenarios. More Than Just English for American Business Because not everyone speaks the “same” English. I have worked across cultures and countries where individuals have varying levels of English proficiency. Even as a native English speaker, I have to adjust my speaking, writing, and presentations when communicating with different groups. Mastering this is a core aspect of what I hope my students take away from my tutoring. What I offer Business English & Presentation Skills * Vocabulary (and pronunciation) for business * Effective communication across cultures and media. * Presentation skills for the “Boardroom”. Test Prep (GMAT / GRE / TOEFL): * Focus on comprehension and verbal reasoning for high scores. * Strategic coaching for students applying to US MBA or Master's programs. US-focused career coaching. * CV/resume and cover letter editing for US companies. * Job interview preparation (mock interviews for tech/corporate roles). What I Charge: * First 30-minute meeting is free! * €40 per hour thereafter. I have worked in cultural contexts and countries where English proficiency varies considerably. Even as a native English speaker, I need to adapt my spoken and written expression, as well as my presentations, when communicating with different audiences. Mastering these skills is a fundamental aspect of what I hope my students will gain from my tutoring. My services: * Business English and presentation skills * Business vocabulary (and pronunciation) * Effective intercultural and multichannel communication * Presentation skills for management meetings Test preparation (GMAT/GRE/TOEFL): * Improving verbal comprehension and reasoning to achieve excellent scores * Strategic coaching for students applying to an MBA or Master's program in the US US-focused career coaching * CV and cover letter writing and editing for US companies * Interview preparation (mock interviews for tech and corporate positions) My rates: * The first 30-minute session is free! * €40 per hour thereafter
