Having delved deeper into the subject matter of STRENGTH OF MATERIALS, now I can give insights on the birth of Finite Element Analysis and demystify some of the rudimentary but critical concepts that are usually overlooked. Interested people can contact me. I can give insights on the following contents authoritatively.
For Strength of Materials : BARS, BEAMS (SHEAR FORCE DIAGRAM & BENDING MOMENT DIAGRAM), TORSION OF SHAFTS AND SPRINGS, DEFLECTION OF BEAMS, FAILURE THEORIES, PRINCIPAL STRESSES AND STRAINS.
IN FEA,
1.Deriving the governing differential equation of one dimensional and two dimensional structural and thermal problems. (Eg; bars, beams, 1d heat transfer, heat transfer in a long cylinder, plates, etc)
2.Solving the governing differential equation by
i)Point Collocation method ----- ii)Subdomain Collocation method ------------> iii)Least Squares Method ---------->iv)Galerkin's Weighted Residual Method -----------> Piece-wise extension of Galerkin's Weighted Residual Method which results in the Birth of FEA. In this process, I can give the physical meaning of each of these methods.
3.Giving birth to the concept of FEA by Rayleigh-Ritz Method (Variational approach)
4.Solving 1d problems by FEA Technique
5.Solving 2d problems by FEA Technique
