About Aacharya B S

I am a Yoga Therapist with over 20 years of experience as a Yoga Trainer and Wellness Coach. Trained in Iyengar and Satyananda Yoga under traditional gurus, I design personalised practices tailored to each student’s unique physical and psychological needs, integrating therapeutic yoga, pranayama, yoga nidra, meditation, and yoga psychology.

My academic background includes an M.Sc. in Science of Living, Preksha Meditation & Yoga, M.A. in Philosophy, and a P.G.D. in Yoga Therapy. With a strong academic and traditional foundation, I guide students to experience yoga as a complete path to health, balance, and inner growth, while also offering lifestyle and dietary guidance based on Ayurveda and Naturopathy.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    Once there was a lecture by a Yogacharya in my school. In that, he had also shown Yogasanas and gave detailed information about him. After that my interest in yoga was awakened.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    Teaching yoga is a respectable profession. Through this, we can bring positive changes in the lives of people by raising their livelihoods, raising the standard of living of the people. Societies can create an atmosphere of love and harmony.
  • How does your work help society?

    Our work helps the society in many ways. Many types of psychosomatic diseases are overcome by practicing yoga. Yoga eliminates stress, calms the mind, enhances intelligence. Yoga develops positive thinking and develops will power. The practice of yoga increases the ability and efficiency of the people, leading to a very good performance of the person at the workplace.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    World famous Yogacharya BKS Iyengar is my role model because he has done a lot and great work on yoga in modern times.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    Since childhood I have been interested in writing poetry, sports, tourism, social service and learning new subjects. Apart from this, I also have a keen interest in Ayurveda and Homeopathy. Fortunately, I also got an opportunity to study deeply in both these subjects.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    Yes, it was at that time that I was studying in class XII. The famous Yogacharya Dr. Chaitanya of my region was the chief guest of that event at the annual sports event. He gave a very good lecture on overall health and yoga. He himself performed several asanas and got the students to do some asanas. After the program, I met him and said, "I also want to learn yoga. Can you teach me?" He said "Absolutely, if you want to learn, then come to my yoga center for a month in summer vacation" His center was 100 kilometres away from my house, financially it was very difficult for me to stay a month in the city so I asked him "I will come, but how much will I have to pay?" Then he said in a slightly humorous style, "You bring one side fare, if I stay here a month while rolling I will give you the fare." After that I went there and whenever there was a holiday, I used to go there." It lasted for about five years. After that, I also took admission in a university and studied up to Master's degree in Yoga. I understand that at that time, if Dr. Chaitanya had not supported me and would not have encouraged me, I would have been in Yoga. I could not get higher education. My first meeting with him proved to be a turning point in my life. I was a student of technical interest, at that time if my interest in yoga was not awakened, I would have been a mechanical engineer, not a yogacharya. Doctor Chaitanya Still alive, I still keep going to him sometimes. He has a very close relationship with me.
