About LeRon

I hold an LLB from the University of York and an LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management from the University of Law, where I graduated with Distinction. I am a qualified solicitor who trained and qualified at Clifford Chance, having secured two training contract offers in my first year at the University of York. I now practise as a Corporate Associate at an international law firm. I have also completed internships at other Magic Circle / Silver Circle / US firms. I know the Vacation Scheme and Training Contract process from both sides: first as an applicant and now as a practising commercial solicitor.

My main focus is helping students secure Vacation Schemes and Training Contracts. I provide one-to-one support with written applications, CVs and cover letters, firm-specific questions, commercial awareness, competency questions, interview preparation and mock interviews.

I have helped students secure multiple Vacation Schemes and Training Contracts at Magic Circle, Silver Circle and US firms and have supported students at different stages of the legal recruitment process.

I also tutor undergraduate Law students in subjects I studied during my LLB at York, particularly with problem questions, essays, exam technique and legal analysis. I use elements of York Law School's Problem Based Learning approach to help students work through legal problems rather than simply memorising content.

Finally, I assist prospective Law students with UCAS applications and personal statements. I have helped multiple students with successful LLB applications.

About the lesson

I have extensive experience with the following:

VACATION SCHEME & TRAINING CONTRACT APPLICATIONS

I assist at any stage of the application process, including:

• Choosing and researching firms
• Vacation Scheme and direct Training Contract applications
• Reviewing and improving application answers
• "Why commercial law?" and "Why this firm?" questions
• Competency and strengths-based questions
• CV and cover letter reviews
• Commercial awareness and discussing commercial issues at interview
• Interview preparation and mock interviews
• Case study and scenario-based interview preparation
• Assessment centre preparation
• Vacation Scheme preparation and converting a scheme into a Training Contract

The aim is to identify your strongest experiences, understand what the particular firm is assessing and help you communicate your own evidence clearly and convincingly.

UNDERGRADUATE LAW / LLB

I assist with undergraduate LLB problem questions, essays, exam preparation, legal research and structuring arguments, including:

Depending on the student's requirements, I use an approach based on York Law School's Problem Based Learning ("PBL") methodology. Rather than simply memorising legal principles, we work through the factual scenario by clarifying the key facts and parties, defining and analysing the legal issues, identifying targeted research questions, researching the relevant law, and applying that law to the facts to produce a clear, structured answer.

UCAS / LAW UNIVERSITY APPLICATIONS

I assist students applying to study Law at university, including UCAS application strategy and personal statement review. I have supported multiple students who went on to receive LLB offers.
